JOB TITLE: Mechanical/Electrical Technician
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
HOURS: 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday
COMPENSATION: Hourly Overtime

SCOPE OF JOB:

Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with ability to read blueprints and assemble custom machines including conveyor systems, CARHOE hard car unloaders, pedal bikes, and specialty machines.

Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, electrical and measuring instruments. Use of machine/equipment manuals and reference books to work independently and as a team. Focus on safe work practices and the ability of standing, bending, squatting, leaning, kneeling, sitting. Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with electrical, mechanical, and engineering teams to build products to specification.
  • Ability to adapt, troubleshoot, and resolve issues throughout the process.
  • Find or create quality solutions while still maintaining high quality level work.
  • Communicate with engineering team to resolve recurring issues.
  • Field support to troubleshoot, repair, install or service equipment.
  • Multitask and work independently with little supervision.
  • Combination of strong mechanical aptitude and electrical control assembly, wiring, PLC, HMI, motor drives, sensors etc..
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and execute mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Install, visually examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, transformers, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
  • Build and wire industrial automation control panels.
  • Wire and start-up industrial automation equipment.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access and repair/replace defective parts.
  • Repairs/replaces control devices: switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contact blocks, motor starters, etc.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Identify, communicate, and resolve unforeseen issues during the assembly process.
  • Flexible to schedule changes and project requirements.
  • Ability to communicate complex problems in a simple and effective manner.
  • Proven experience building, assembling, troubleshooting, or repairing industrial equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical competency to assemble and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Effective time management and team leadership skills.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and desire to learn and grow with the company.
  • Day travel may be required on occasion.

Nice to have:

  • Experience installing or troubleshooting PLC with communication software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
